Stonehenge

Today in history we learnt about Stonehenge and how historians estimate that it took 1,500 years to build! We had a go at building it ourselves using cheesy puffs instead of stones!

Presentation pieces

This week we have started working on our presentation pieces ready for our whole school showcase on Friday 9th February. So far we have completed our writing and next week we will begin painting our picture.

Multiplying in Maths

In maths, we have been learning how to use equipment to help us multiply. We created arrays using our dienes cubes and this has helped us to multiply larger numbers. Here we have combined two facts – 9×3 and 10×3 to work out 19×3.

Stone Age Tools

In history, we have been learning about how historians discover facts about the Stone Age. They dig up evidence such as bones and tools to make guesses. Today we passed around some real life flint stones which were used as tools in the Stone Age.

Maths

We have kick started our maths learning this morning by exploring different ways to represent simple multiplication calculations. Here we are putting people in houses and using our times tables knowledge to help work it out.
